Espanyol and Real Madrid met at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday in a La Liga clash.

It was a game of two halves, with Espanyol taking the lead through Leo Baptistao in the first period. However, Madrid turned things around in the second half, with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale giving them the victory.

The result means that Madrid are now four points clear at the top of the table, while Espanyol remain in the bottom three.

It was a disappointing afternoon for Espanyol, who will be disappointed not to have taken anything from the game. However, Madrid were clinical in the second half and deserved the victory in the end.

Espanyol are based in Barcelona and are the second-most popular club in the city, behind Barcelona.

Real Madrid are based in the Spanish capital and are the most popular club in the country.

The two clubs have met each other 189 times in all competitions, with Real Madrid winning 97 of those matches.

Espanyol have only won 40 times, while there have been 52 draws.

The most recent meeting between the two clubs was in January of this year, when they met in the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid won the match 2-0, with goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale

Espanyol, meanwhile, remain in the bottom three and are now six points adrift of safety.

The match got off to a slow start, with neither side able to gain a foothold in the game.

Madrid had the first chance of note when Benzema met a cross from Dani Carvajal, but the Frenchman's header was well saved by Diego Lopez

Real Madrid beat 10-men Espanyol

It was a comfortable victory for Real Madrid as they beat Espanyol 3-0 at the Bernabeu, with the home side capitalising on their numerical advantage after the dismissal of Victor Sanchez.

Christian Benteke opened the scoring for Madrid early on, before Sanchez was sent off for a second bookable offence just before half-time.Isco then doubled Madrid’s lead shortly after the break, before Benteke completed his brace in the dying moments to seal the win.The victory keeps Madrid’s slim hopes of winning the La Liga title alive, as they now sit six points behind leaders Barcelona, who have a game in hand.

As for Espanyol, they remain in the bottom three and are in danger of being relegated to the Segunda Division.

Real Madrid beat Espanyol in a hard-fought match on Saturday, with two goals from Gareth Bale and one from Karim Benzema securing the victory.

Bale opened the scoring in the first half with a fine solo effort, cutting inside from the right and firing a low shot past Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Benzema then doubled Madrid's lead early in the second half, latching on to a through ball from Toni Kroos and slotting past Lopez.

Espanyol pulled a goal back late on through substitute Borja Iglesias, but Madrid held on to win 2-1.

The victory takes Madrid level on points with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table, although Los Blancos have played one game more than their rivals.

In a game that was otherwise evenly matched, it was Benzema that made the difference, scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. His clinical finish was the difference between the two sides, and Real Madrid will be grateful to have him back in the side after a difficult few weeks.

Lecomte's weaknesses were exposed in a big way during the 2017-18 season. He was often injured, and when he was healthy, he was ineffective. Lecomte struggled with his shooting, and his defense was often poor. As a result, Lecomte was demoted to the bench and saw his minutes decrease.

REA - Vinicius Junior - 12 mins.

ESP - Joselu - 44 mins.

REA - Karim Benzema - 88 mins

REA - Karim Benzema - 90+10 mins

The match between Espanyol and Real Madrid will take place on Sunday, October 28th at 12:00pm CET. This will be the first time these two teams have met since Espanyol’s promotion to La Liga this season. Real Madrid are currently in first place in the league, while Espanyol are in 17th.

This will be an interesting match to watch, as Espanyol will be looking to prove that they belong in La Liga, while Real Madrid will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.

It should be a great match, and you can catch it live on TV or online.
